Does God Really Exist?

In order to begin your journey of faith, or to strengthen it, it is important to first answer the question "Does God Really Exist?".

Now there are many arguments back and forth on this subject that can really confuse you, if you haven't yet come to a convincing conclusion on your own. I personally cannot prove to you whether God exists or not, only he can do that. I do believe, however, that he has put a compelling argument in front of me, which I will share for your consideration.

Psalm 19:1-3 - The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.

What is language?

Webster's Dictionary has the following definition: "A systematic means of communicating ideas or feelings by the use of conventionalized signs, sounds, gestures, or marks having understood meaning."

Language is communicated in many ways, one of which you are currently deciphering as you read this email.

Okay, so what really is language?

Language is a CODE. It is an agreed upon set of meanings that are understandable to those who have agreed to it. Think about it; People use codes all the time in the form of alphabetical letters regardless of the dialect, auditory sounds, hand signals and other types of body language and symbols.

Animals also use codes in the languages that they use to communicate to each other. Their codes may not be as sophisticated as ours, but I guarantee you that when the Alpha Male in a Lion's pride roars, all of the other lions know exactly what is being communicated.

So what's the point?

Do codes grow on trees? Are they born? Do they just pop out of thin air from nowhere? Did they evolve from an ocean of primordial soup?

I hope your answer is a resounding NO to all of the above questions. Of course they are not created in any of those ways.

So where do they come from?

CODES come from a MIND! Only a mind or a set of minds can conceive of and create codes that are meaningful to itself or others. A rock cannot create a code. Only a living being, with a mind can create a code or a language.

People have minds, so where does God fit into this?

I'm glad you asked!! Can you think of a code and/or a language that neither people nor animals created?

How about DNA?

DNA is just a set of molecules, you might argue. While that is true, the set of rules that DNA follows to KNOW how to do its job are not molecules, and so they are an agreed upon code or a language. Since you and I and every animal that ever lived is made up from DNA, then we most definitely did not create it. If there is life on other planets, they would also be made up from DNA.

So WHAT mind DID create it?

I call that mind, GOD.

So, does God really exist? I believe he does!
